Unit 2 Draft
Well the first thing that comes to mind when you think technology is what?
I am assuming most of the readers answers would be somewhere in the region of "innovation", "exciting," "new," "world changing" and "possibility," These are all quite hard to agree with. We are all so caught up in this world of technology that it is even hard for us to realize all of the negatives that have come of it.
According to Everyday Health technology use can cause failing memories, emotional instability, sleep deprivation, too much co dependence on parents because never learned to be individuals, strained vision, hearing loss, social anxiety, muscle, heart trouble and joint pain and internet addiction. All of these negative health effects are outcomes of the world that is simply so over reliant on our technology for communication.
How about meeting someone for a coffee? Is that still at thing? Nope, I can FaceTime you.
These are serious issues.
If you spend 2 hours per day communicating/using your phone, you have spent an entire month on your phone every year. U.S. consumers spend 5 hours per day on mobile devices.
These adults weren't even born into the technology era, and they are spending over a month per year on their phones. The time spent on mobile apps has increased 69% year over year. 51% of the time is spent in messaging apps, social media and entertainment applications.
