Film Review
This review titled, "The epic Celtics-Lakers rivalry inspires one of the best 30 For 30s" and was written by Noel Murray. This was an extremely long documentary that discusses the rivalry across long periods of time and in immense depth. The review has specific themes to each paragraph, a talking point that he is reviewing, which I like, and provides clarity through the organization. For example, the second paragraph begins as follows, Be warned: "The opening minutes of “Best Of Enemies” aren’t especially promising, and almost seem designed to put viewers off," and then proceeds to provide the backdrop/beginning of the documentary, which is immensely helpful for the reader.
1. keep it short
2. chronological order
3. do not make it overbearing with opinions everywhere.
4. provide an accurate backdrop
5. the style should be light
The documentary review is in chronological order to give the reader a very accurate representation of how the documentary is structured, to make it seem that you are almost watching the documentary but with a few viewpoints here or there. "After a modest amount of setup, though, “Best Of Enemies” picks up steam once it starts getting into the intertwined histories of these two franchises;" this quote really represents the chronological flow of the review, which is very nice for the reader once again.
Overall, I believe this is a great review with details that make you follow the review even if you didn't watch, with just enough opinion to not make it over bearing and making it seem like the author is telling you what to do.
A few rules that everyone should follow when making a review
